Margaret “Marge” Pittges, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at her home in Woodridge, IL.

She was born on November 15, 1926 in Nuremberg, Germany to the late Johann Reif and Pauline Reif (Moerl) and was one of nine siblings. In 1950, following World War II, Margaret married the late Howard J. Pittges and moved to Chicago, IL. Margaret was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a secretarial assistant in both the United States and Germany -- including during the Nuremberg Trials -- and was a customer service representative with Homemakers Furniture Company in Downers Grove, IL.

She is survived by her loving daughter Susan P. Krueger (Pittges) and son-in-law Otto F. Krueger. Margaret was a devoted grandmother (“Oma”) to granddaughter Margaret C. Nowak (Krueger), grandson-in-law John F. Nowak and grandson Kevin E. Krueger. Margaret was a lifelong member of the The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL, where she frequently took her daughter and grandchildren for walks and picnics. She was an avid swimmer for much of her life, swimming laps at her local pool well into her 80s. Margaret also loved to travel the world, attending many cruises, visiting friends across the United States and spending summer months with her beloved family in Germany as often as she could.

My Dear Marge, I will never forget sitting next to you at Homemakers. We had some laughs and memories that have lasted over 20 years. You were always kind and patient with Me and the entire staff.
