Matt was a great guy. He died much too young. He is truly missed.

Matt and I played softball together on Sundays for many years.   We always parked our cars next to each other, pulled out our chairs and had a beer or two before heading to our sponsor bar for lunch.   I always enjoyed sharing fishing and baseball stories with him.   Matt was married a couple of years before me and when my time came, he was never short on advice.  And when my dad was battling cancer, and later myself battling cancer, Matt offered some sample supplies that he sold for us to use.  I will always be grateful to him for his kindness during that time.  Our team  would also have annual golf outing after the season ended and Matt and I would usually be in the same foursome.  He had so many great funny stories to share.    I know that I can speak for that Legends team that he will be greatly missed.  RIP my friend!  

Mathew and Carolyn always remembered my parents and sent gifts to them every Christmas .
Mathew and Carolyn are very treasured in my Hendricks family hearts.

Mat was always so kind, funny, thoughtful and a good friend.  Our daughter Emma asked me to share that he was always patient and kind to her when she was little. Mat and I worked together  on the same team for the  HFB Great Lakes Region. I started during Covid and didn’t know anybody from the company… He reached out to me and we became friends immediately. He was helpful, funny and would always put me at ease… he told me to keep calling him and to keep things real during his fight! I will miss him but know he’s watching over his beautiful family and friends. 💙🙌🏻😇. Your buddy Kim

Schmidt was the type of friend where we maybe didn't talk for a couple of weeks but picked right up where we left off.   "Genuine" is a word that I would use for him. His one-liners kept you on your toes. Sometimes I would play along like I knew what the heck he was talking about and then I googled it to find out the movie or song reference.  We had so much in common - music, career history as we worked together from 2000-2004, politics, sports (and the occasional sports pool), the Simpsons.  A true friend sincerely asks how you are  doing and really truly means it - this was Schmidt. He listened to what you were saying, took interest in the conversation, and added his humor and personal touch to every single encounter.  To say that I will miss this guy is an understatement. I literally picked up my phone today to call him and then realized he was gone. His memories will live on and the love that he shared with his family and friends will live on. The beautiful memory that I will forever cherish is being able to visit with him and his family the day after his Birthday. You could just feel the love and devotion in that house, the peace, the kindness.  Schmidt was still so present in the conversations and you could tell that he knew that he was loved by so many.  Nobody can fill that void, that emptiness that I now have. But I will always remember his voice saying "yo", or "je-llo" as in "hello". Or "dude", or "what's up man?!".   Love ya man and see you on the other side. Many blessings of strength and health to Carolyn and Emmy, and family.  Cricket. 

I met a sweet boy when he was canvassing our little neighborhood for his mom to get a stop sign installed, needing signatures on a petition. Of course,he stole my heart, along with the rest of his family.  Just a little bit of history. God bless the Schmidt family with hope that we see our loved ones again in the heavens.

I met Matt while caring for his little angel Emily. In the short time I’ve know him, I knew two things very quickly. First and foremost, he’s hilarious. I have no doubt that is where Emily gets her sense of humor. Second, fast cars. The first time he pulled up in my driveway my son shouted “ Mom, there’s a race car in the driveway”. He loved chatting about his love for speed in between trying to bribe Emily to get in the car so he could “speed “ her home ( her words ). From dropping off fresh vegetables from his garden or just being that funny guy, I’m sure we all knew it’s definitely a life taken way to soon. You will be missed by all! 

Had the pleasure of networking with Matt and becoming friends. Always shared some great laughs together. 
I Will definitely miss him.

I always looked forward to Thursday and Friday night softball with Matt, which ultimately changed to Tree Guys for pizza with Carolyn and Emily.  He was a great friend and even better husband and father.  He was taken from this world way too early and will be dearly missed.  Hopefully our memories of Matt will continue to be a blessing to all of us.  

Matt was truly a great guy. When my  diabetic mother had dementia, all my mother would eat was Glucerna, At the time, Matt worked the makers of Glucerna and was able to supply my family with enough of the drink to help my mother. I also got to spend time with him in a boat on Reelfoot Lake-you couldn't find a better fishing companion. The world really miss this good man, but heaven is now a better place.

I want to say how saddened I am over Matthew leaving this earth so soon. I don’t know why the good ones are called so young. My love and prayers go out to his family. May his daughter remember her Dad’s love. 

I will never forget the time when Matt was around 10 years old we were going to the store and when he got out of the car he looked at me and said "Mom I Love you"  My heart just swelled with joy. He will always be my pride and joy. I love you so much, Mom xoxo

I had the opportunity to work with Mat and we hung out at a couple Sales meeting. A very genuine guy and absolutely hilarious. I pray for his wife, daughter and family. A horrible disease that also took my father 6 years ago. Hang in there.

Mat was a sales rep and I helped train him as the educator for Appulse. He was funny, smart and a joy to work with. He spoke fondly of his wife and adored his daughter Emily.  My deepest condolences to the family.
