

Paul E. Kobler, age 70, of Aurora, passed away on September 15th. Beloved husband of Misette (nee Davis); loving father of Ryan; cherished son of the late Robert J. and June Kobler (nee Samuelson); dear brother of Robert A. (Sigrid) Kobler, Ellyn (Kevin W.) Brolsma and Carole (Ralph) Miserendino; fond uncle to Jonathan (Jennifer) Kobler, Sarah (Christopher) Weise, Joanna (Joshua) Hardwick, Jacob (Stacey) Brolsma, Christopher (Annette) Brolsma, Kevin R. (Jessie) Brolsma, Elizabeth Davis, Jennifer Davis, Kelsey (Ventura) Martinez, Samantha “Maggie” Davis, Kyle Davis, Sam Attwood and great uncle to 21. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Robert O. Kobler.
Paul retired from Borg-Warner Automotive in Bellwood, Illinois in 2009 after holding a variety of production positions in the plant over 27 years. He particularly enjoyed operating machines, such as CNC lathes, where he could utilize his math skills. During his career at Borg-Warner, Paul was honored for perfect annual attendance four different years. Paul was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. He loved to attend worship services and sing and participated in choirs at both St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park, IL and Good Shepherd Church in Naperville, IL. His hobbies included gardening, cooking, acrylic oil painting, HO model trains, planning and taking road trips and train rides, family gatherings and playing a World War II strategy game with his son. He was frequently sought out by family members for his recall of important dates and events and his trivia skills. Paul was an active member at the Naperville Senior Center since 2018 where he enjoyed exercising, singing, painting, crafts and playing Wii games. He looked forward to regular and motivating visits with his physical therapist, Barry.
Visitation is Thursday Sept. 22, 4-8pm and Friday from 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30am at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave; Lisle, IL. Interment will follow at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Naperville Senior Center, 1504 N. Naper Blvd., Suite 120, Naperville, IL 60563 or to Good Shepherd Church, 1310 Shepherd Drive, Naperville, IL 60565.
