Rosemary was born in Hinsdale, IL in 1944, grew up in Westmont, IL and attended Hinsdale Central High School where she participated in badminton, field hockey and other sports. After marrying and having two sons, Rosemary moved to Lisle, IL in 1969 where she organized craft shows at the elementary school, was a room mom and participated in the High School Booster Club all while working full-time at Tischler’s and then as a Deli Manager at Burton’s Meat Market in Hinsdale (where she infamously regularly served legendary radio personality Steve Dahl and his wife).
In the little spare time she had, she loved to bowl at Suburbanite Bowl in Westmont, IL bowling a high score of 279 and serving as treasurer for many years. She also liked to play cards with her close friends on Friday nights, play golf, shovel snow in the dark, wash her Chevy Blazer in the rain and special-order McDonalds Double Cheeseburgers (ketchup only).
She loved watching Chicago sports, especially the Bears (Walter Payton), the Bulls (Scottie Pippen), White Sox (Bucky Dent) and the Blackhawks (Niklas Hjalmarsson). She also liked watching her boys play sports and never missed a game.
Rosemary began working a Suburban Life Graphic (Downers Grove, IL) in the early-mid 1980’s where she sold commercial advertising. She worked there until the early 2000’s.
She moved back to Westmont in 1987 and after retiring , enjoyed time with her dog Xena, playing computer games, going to the casinos to play nickel and penny slots and spending time with her grandchildren.
As time progressed and although her memory consistently deteriorated, she still remembered her high school locker combination and to always say, “Love You More.”
Visitation will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave., Lisle, on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 6-8pm.
