Bill grew up in Chicago and moved to the suburbs (Lombard) when he got married (Loretta) to start his career and family. He was blessed with 4 children and 10 grandchildren.
Bill was a very hard worker, he never sat still. He was a supervisor in the envelope business in the Chicagoland area for years, he was a mentor, trained many people throughout his career so they could go on to be successful. He also put his talent in carpentry to work and started home remodeling later in his life. He was talented at remodeling, especially tile work. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He made many friends along the way in his career with his gift to gab.
Bill was a funny guy, made everyone laugh around him. He told a lot of jokes and shared many stories of his life. He made a bad day turn good with a simple phone call. Always a positive inspiration, he was loved by all that knew him. He was a good listener as well as a good storyteller. To know him was to truly love him.
He loved cooking, playing cards, especially Old Maid with the grandkids, fixing up his old truck, working in the yard and tinkering with anything that needed to be fixed. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He would hang with the best of us, from boating, wave running, sports and cookouts. You name it, he did it.
His passing will leave an impact in many of our lives.
Bill was the loving father of Matthew Allen, Mark Allen (Denise) Brian Allen, and Diana Allen-Haecker (Jim); cherished grandfather of Zachary Lopez, Jonathan Allen, Anthony Allen, Tyler Allen, Alex Allen, Vince Allen, Nikolas Allen, Marco Allen, J.D. Haecker and Aubrey Haecker; dear brother of Cheryl Larson, Cynthia Nicholson (John), Michelle Allen, Stephanie Boyce (Jim) and the late Kenneth Allen; beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews; loving boyfriend of Marge Veugeler; and former spouse and friend of Loretta Allen.
Always will be remembered and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, July 23.
