Joseph "Joe" Wellinghoff, age 71, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully at home on October18th. He is survived by his wife, LeAnn Wellinghoff; son John Wellinghoff of Little Rock; daughter Jennifer Philpott of Mabelvale; daughter Debbie (John "J5") Davidson of North Little Rock; and granddaughter Leah Philpott of Mabelvale. Also surviving are two brothers, Herman (Venia) Wellinghoff of Bigelow and George Wellinghoff of Fayetteville; and two sisters,
Elena and Rita Wellinghoff of Bigelow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary Wellinghoff of Bigelow; sister, AnnaMarie Goodwin of Little Rock; and sister, Mary Francis "Marie" Wellinghoff of Little Rock.
He grew up in Bigelow and at an early age developed a love for outdoors and hunting. After High School he joined the Air Force. He married in 1973 and moved to Little Rock. He worked all of his life as an electrician and retired from The Southern Company of North Little Rock after nearly 30 years of service.
His hobbies included hunting, bowling, watching the Arkansas Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals, and spoiling his only grandchild, Leah. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. He fought a long, hard battle with cancer and will truly be missed by many.
Flowers are more than welcome or memorials can be made in his honor to the St. Edward Weed and Seed Committee.
