

Aaliyah “Jackie” Anderson Khabeer was born August 14, 1949, in Little Rock, AR. She was the oldest child born to the late Willie Anderson and Flora Pitts Anderson. Her earthly walk ended on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
Aaliyah joined Greater Center Star Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until her death. She was active with the Ushers Ministry and the Mission Ministry until her health began to fail. She remained a loyal member until her death.
Aaliyah graduated from Metropolitan High School in Little Rock.
Aaliyah was married to Sam Khabeer, Sr. They were the parents of four children. She was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Leih Jean York and one sibling, Theopholis “Ducky” Williams, Jr., She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
She leaves to cherish her memories her four children Faheemah Fortune (Chris), Fareedah Khabeer, Omar Khabeer (Anthya) and Sam Khabeer; seven siblings: Gary Anderson (Leola), Melvin Sims (Cathy) and Anthony Sims (Ellen); sixteen grandchildren: Leia Murray, Ray C. Murray, Devin M. Khabeer, David L. Jackson, Zaejon Jones, Sacha Huddleston, Cassadie Martin, Aliyah Khabeer, Tajiah Khabeer, Omar Khabeer, Jr., Daeshun Khabeer, Syieed Khabeer, Shilo Khabeer, Alynn Hatchett, Takira Robinson, and Sam Khabeer, Jr.; aunts: Bobby Anne Vance, Ritchley Hurvey and Marilyn Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Aaliyah enjoyed many pastime activities. One of her favorites was spending time with family and friends. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and many times, she solved the Wheel of Fortune puzzles with accuracy before the television contestants did. Aaliyah touched countless lives through the church, her family, her work, and her outgoing personality.
