Bennie Hayes Stanton (Benn) unexpectedly died in his home on December 14,, 2017 in Sherwood, AR. He was 71. He retired from this industry in 1998 and went back to educating and caring for the young people of Pulaski County school district. Benn was a successful and inspiring businessman. For those who knew him well, we often felt he missed his calling as a chef. His love for entertaining with delectable feasts and an accompanying meticulously chosen wine watching a good ballgame was his hallmark. Benn Stanton is survived by his sister Patricia and her husband Bobby Kaiser with daughter Stacey; his daughter and sons, Brandy with daughter Stella & Roman Stanton and his family Jennifer and Caymen, and Bennie (Bo) Butler and his children Caitlyn and Jude. His family included step children Oshen Matheson and Raven Adams. Mr. Stanton will be buried in a private ceremony in Magnolia, AR. A memorial will take place on December 19, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Lindsey’s BBQ and Hospitality House. Those who knew him are welcome to attend and celebrate Benn’s life. In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations for the Alternative Learning Environment program at Maumelle High School in honor of Benn Stanton; addressed to Jeff Senn, 100 Victory Ln. Patty - Marilyn and I were saddened to learn of Bennie's passing. I have many fond memories of Bennie and the times we spent together at MHS. He encouraged me my junior year to stay in shape and come back and break the MHS pole vault record, which I did, thanks to Bennie's wonderful support. I last saw him several years ago on a flight from Houston to Dallas. I was seated and saw him coming down the aisle so I blocked the aisle with my leg and held my head down. He stopped and said 'excuse me' at which time I looked up. He grinned that big old Bennie smile, picked me up out of my seat and gave me a big bear hug - I shall never forget that. We had a great visit afterwards. We shall all miss him, but shall see him again as we have that promise. We love you, Bob and Marilyn Keys

I got to know Bennie last school year and enjoyed getting to know him. He had a special quality with working with the kids in the ALC program! He will be missed and has left the ALC program in a better situation because of his compassion. Rest In Peace my friend!

To the family of Mr. Bennie Stanton:
We will dearly miss Mr. Stanton at PCSSD. I had the honor of working with him for a few years and can attest to his dedication to alternative education and the students who've benefited from it. Mr. Stanton was also very proud of his own family - especially his children - and shared memories and photos nostalgically. May you, his family, find peace in the good memories you'll always have of Bennie Stanton.

Dear Patty, My condolences to you on the death of your beautiful brother and my treasured classmate Bennie. Smith Street Magnolia holds fond memories of growing up. You and my brother Willie, the brats! Bennie Hayes the hero of all the backyard ball games. It doesn't surprise me that he was a hero in life. Kind regards, Tamara Wilhite Pennings (Melbourne, Australia)
