

Bernice Gangluff Woods went to her eternal home on September 8, 2025. She was born on December 26, 1932, in rural N. Little Rock, AR, to Joseph and Cecilia Gangluff. She graduated from NLR High School and was employed by the Arkansas State Legislative Counsel for twenty-five years. She also worked for American Medical Rentals, Eggleston's Car Detail, US Census Bureau, Wren Theatres, and was a housewife.
Bernice married Orville L. (Tex) Woods on September 16, 1955, and they made their home in Little Rock, where they raised two children. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Business Women's Club of greater Little Rock, and she served as treasurer. In retirement she enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
Bernice is preceded in death by her husband and parents, brothers Rudolph Gangluff, Lee Gangluff, and sister Mildred Gangluff, and son-in-law Scott Helmbeck. She is survived by her brother Edwin Gangluff of AZ, son Mark (Margaret) Woods of Texas, daughter Annette Helmbeck of Little Rock, grandchildren Christine Woods of Texas, Tyler (Lynsey) Woods of Texas, and Nathan (Shanning) Woods of TN, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin 9:00 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2025 at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church, with rosary service at 9:30 a.m., and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., all at the church. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. at the Little Rock National Cemetery.
