Bobby L. Fox, 94, of Mabelvale, died December 11, 2019. He was born July 7, 1925, in Monroe, Louisiana, a son of the late Kester Fox and Dorothy (Strange) Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Raye Frances (Pettingill) Fox, who died January 10, 1998, and a son, Richard Eric Fox who died February 19, 2004. He was also preceded in death by sons-in-law, Richard Adkins who died April 4, 2011 and James Lamb who died May 20, 2013. His sister, Mae Francis Whitmore and his brother, Kester (Bo) Fox also preceded him in death.
Mr. Fox was a Navy Seaman 1st Class veteran of WW II, he was a deep sea welder, and had proclaimed to be the only person who had walked on the bottom of Tokyo Bay. He was a deacon of the Brookwood Baptist Church; and was retired from General Mechanical Contractors as a plumber and pipe fitter. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters #155 for over 70 years. He was a mason, and loved fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his daughters, Bobbie Adkins of Hot Springs; Carolyn Lamb of Mabelvale; his sister, Joanne Chism of Fresno, California; grandchildren, Doug Adkins, Deborah Jones, Chris Lamb, Paul Fox, Jayme Redding, Loal Garner, Jeffrey Francis; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10:00am, Monday, December 16, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-4pm, Sunday, December 15 at the funeral home.
