Charles Edward Evans departed this world on May 17,2021 seven years to the day of his beloved Christine’s death. He was born on October 17, 1926 in Des Arc to Louis and Enner Evans, the oldest of 6 children, Charles was a self made man always putting his family needs before himself never asking for anything in return.
He served in the Army at the end of World War 2. Returning to DesArc where met and married Christine McFarlin on May 7, 1948 and were married for 66 years. He worked for the Kroger company for 44 years. At work he was known as the bear because get the job done but everyone knew he was a teddy bear.
He was an avid golfer and he and Christine enjoyed playing all of the country. He loved to deer hunt but stopped when his hunting buddy, Christine, died.
He is preceded in death by his parents brothers Buck Evans of Colorado, Thomas Evans of Des Arc and Donald Evans of Lonoke and his sister, Jane Martin of Des Arc.
He is survived by son, Michael Evans of Cabot , his children Christopher and Jennifer Wilheim her husband Josh and granddaughter Madaline Christine of Grove Ok
Daughter, Deborah Stewart of Bryant. Her son Scott Stewart of Benton, Samuel Stewart and wife Patty of Farmington and grandchildren Nicholas and wife Elli of Bentonville and Kathleen Stewart of Bryant, and GrandDaughter in law Teresa Stewart.
Brother, Fred Evans of Lonoke and many nieces and nephews.
