Clara M. (Riggins) Fells, 74, of Little Rock was called to be with the Lord on July 23, 2024 after a courageous and long battle with cancer. She was born November 15, 1949 in Altheimer, Arkansas to the late Climmie and Alvrania (Thornton) Riggins. In addition to her parents, Clara was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Nathan Fells; her siblings, Mabel, Alonzo, Curtis, and Howard Riggins; and her nephew, Torris Early.
Clara spent her childhood in Altheimer, Arkansas, graduating from Martin High School in 1968. She dedicated over thirty years to managing Wendy’s fast-food restaurant before retiring. A natural leader and the pillar of her family, Clara was known for her resilience, strength, and vibrant personality. She brought joy wherever she went and was celebrated for her diva spirit. As the eldest daughter in her family, Clara assumed the role of "big sister" to her younger siblings. In her leisure time, she delighted in cooking and passed down her culinary talents to all her children. She cherished her family deeply, especially her children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish the memories of Clara include her children, who lovingly called her “Honey”, Don (Andrea) Fells, Benjamin Fells, Robert Fells, Ron Anthony Fells, Shannon (Michael) Fells-Brown, and Christine Fells; step-son, Nathan (Sandra) Alexander; siblings, Albert (Scherry) Riggins, Annie (Joe) Reynolds, Lois Halford, Daphene “Debra” Thompson, Amos (Michelle) Riggins, and Juanita McCray; sister-in-law, Pearl Williams; aunt, Deloris Dendy; eleven grandchildren; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Griffin-Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Clara will be laid to rest following the service at Elmlawn Cemetery.
