11/23/1951 --- 07/08/2026
This world became a slightly dimmer place last week when, on July 8, 2026, the well-lived life of Darrell Wesley Tucker came to an end.
Born November 23, 1951, Darrell was a proud Veteran. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war era, as a Radioman aboard the US Navy Destroyer, the USS Agerholm. After his honorable discharge in 1973, Darrell began his career in Electric Engineering, which led to a twenty-year position with Houston Lighting and Power Company in Houston, Texas.
Darrell loved Fleetwood Mac and Pineapple Coconut Dream cake.
He loved his family...sisters, Nedra Kay Wright and Ginger Gail Wood (Larry) and brother, Stephen Kent Tucker, along with his nephews Clayton Proctor, Sonny Wright and Kenneth Wright. Darrell’s love for his family included his love and devotion to his family by marriage, which included cousins and nephews and nieces, as well as his Brother-in-Law, Ben Lambert (deceased) and Ben’s wife, Lisa Lambert… and his Sister-in-Law, Lee (Lambert) Alfred and Lee’s husband, Dale Alfred.
Darrell had a special love in his heart for his cousin by marriage, Deanna (DeDe) Smith!!!
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents…Wesley Tucker and Ercelle Gooding and by his older brother Gary Lynn Tucker.
Darrell was also preceded in death by his beautiful daughter, Brittney Michelle Tucker.
Darrell’s heart was full of unconditional love and pride for his Grandson, Jackson Wesley Pitcock and so much love and respect for Jackson’s Dad, Madison Pitcock.
But, above all else…Darrell loved his wife, Viola Sue (Lambert) Tucker. She was at his side until he drew his last breath, just as she had promised to be 51 years earlier.
The family requests memorial donations be directed in Darrell's name to CARTI Cancer Center, Little Rock, Arkansas.
