Born in Robstown, Texas, February 06, 1954 to David F. Belmarez Jr. and Josefa Salazar who preceded him in death. David is survived by his wife, Judith Borbon, sister, Estella Belmarez and seven children: Lisa Buchanan and husband Edward Buchanan, Scott Belmarez and wife Nikki Belmarez, Michael Belmarez, Alina McKenzie and Jessica Hamilton and husband Derek Hamilton, Justin Borbon and Shay Gamalo and husband Ulysses Gamalo. He also leaves behind twenty-two grandchildren: Angeleah, Nathan, Tristan, Cedric, Rowan, Devin, Arianna, Nevaeh, Adrian, Chloe, Christian, Caden, Cambrie, Alyssa, Draven, Madison, Dallas, Skyla, Kyrasten, Taylor, Emmilynn, and Hollie and two great grandchildren: Carmelo and Everleigh.
David is a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Storm and a twenty year retired veteran of the Air Force where he earned several accommodations including: Air Force Commendation Medal with one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor and one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service medal with one Bronze Star, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. David is also a retiree of the United States Postal Service.
David grew up in Taft, Texas where he learned to work on cars as a teenager. He continued to follow his passion by repairing Aircrafts during his military service as an Aircraft Pneudraulic Specialist. While serving in the military, David continued to work on cars and spend time with family and friends in his spare time. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling all over the world with his wife and family. He was dedicated to his children, grandchildren and other family making memories with each of them. He was a strong, funny, determined husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend to many.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Governor of Arkansas has issued directives that face coverings must be worn and social distancing be observed; indoor events held at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth are limited to 50 in attendance due to the directive until further notice.
