Demetra "Dee" Stroud

Demetra Stroud, 95 of Beebe, Arkansas, fondly known as Dee, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2020. She was born on November 17, 1924 in Antioch Township, Arkansas to the late Roland and Myrtle Gasaway Belew. Dee was married to Douglas Stroud (deceased) in 1944. In her early life, Dee was a hairdresser at Blass Company in Little Rock, receptionist for an eye doctor and finally at American Abstract and Title Company as a receptionist in Little Rock. Dee was an active and viable member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock for many years. Her favorite pastimes were spending time fishing and tending her flowers. Survivors include her two children, Michael Stroud of Cabot and Judy Stroud of Austin, Texas, two grandsons Barry (Beth) and Andy (Kristi) as well as 3 great-grandchildren: Meredith, Carter and Bruce. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and their families and special friend, Gwynn Carpenter of Austin, Tx. Visitation will be 10 am Friday, January 31, 2020 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, Little Rock Arkansas followed by the service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Flowers are appreciated or donations in Dee’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Sincere condolences to Demetra's family. I knew all the Stroud family growing up in Asbury Methodist Church. Demetra and Doug were pillars of the church. My mother later went to Trinity United Methodist and enjoyed being with them there. My prayers are with you now.
