Eugene Gideon

Eugene “Sonny” Chester Gideon, 77, of Little Rock passed away Friday, November 27, 2015. He was born November 8, 1938 in Little Rock to Chester Newton and Bernice Loetscher Gideon. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Garrett and son-in-law Wesley of Benton and son, Stephen Gideon and daughter-in-law, Regina Holtman Gideon of Maumelle. Eugene was a semi-truck mechanic with Arkansas Best Freight and retired from ABF after 30 years of service. He served as union steward at ABF for several years. He was a 32 degree mason with the A&A Scottish Rite in good standing in the Valley of Little Rock, orient of Arkansas and a member of the Adoniram Lodge #228 in Mablevale, AR. Eugene was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock for many years. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Hickory Heights Health and Rehab. The visitation will be Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 1:30pm in the chapel at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, AR with Pastor Ryan Rush officiating. The funeral will follow at 2pm in the chapel with burial at Primrose United Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Adoniram #228 F&AM, Post Office Box 1, Mabelvale, AR 72103.
