Evelyn Olivia Arnold Johnson was born on January 26, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Tranny and Della Arnold. She was the first of five children. She was educated in the Bronx New York, where she graduated from Jane Addams High School. After graduation, she attended dance school and, in her later years, taught dance classes at the Dot Callanen Dance-Gymnastics Center in Little Rock and at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (“UALR”). Additionally, she conducted workshops and trainings for various organizations, churches and ministries throughout central Arkansas.
Evelyn also took computer courses in her early twenties, which enabled her to work as a supervisor over Data Processing Input at the UALR. After UALR, she became a computer operations manager for the Pulaski County Special School District, where she worked until she retired in 2007 to take care of her parents.
Evelyn had a servant's heart for family and friends. She was the Minister of the Dance Arts Department and involved in the children’s ministry at Full Counsel Metro Church for numerous years. She later joined the House of Healing and Deliverance Church, where she continued her heart’s desire of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tranny and Della Arnold. She leaves to cherish her memory her two children Kim Sanders (Ernest) and Dartanion Johnson (Tina) both of Little Rock; her siblings Wilbert Arnold of Richmond Virginia and Tranny Arnold, III, Kenneth Arnold and Karen Carter all of Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren Trinity Eubanks and Ernest Sanders, III both of Dallas, Texas, Brieon Goldsmith (Dreese) and Tikeita Johnson, both of Little Rock, Arkansas and Eric Steen of Flower Mound, Texas; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
