Everette Louis Bene 94, formerly of Little Rock, AR passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2026, at Superior Health and Rehab in Conway, AR. Everette was born on August 20th, 1931, in Mabelvale, AR. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Peggy Ann Bene and his mother Sylvia Hicks Bene; one brother, Thomas Bene and one sister Helen Langhammer. He is survived by 22 nephews and nieces, and a host of great nephews and nieces, as well as friends and neighbors.
He was a member of former South Highland Baptist Church in Little Rock where he served as Deacon. He was a retired military veteran of 21 years serving the Arkansas Army National Guard, Everette was a retired Pressman at General Publishing. He was active in church activities, missions, disaster relief, Habitat for Humanity, and woodworking. Everette spent countless weekends and summers entertaining family and friends at the Lake House with fireworks, cookouts, swimming and water skiing. He was always up for a game of dominos, cards, or even a puzzle. In his younger years he loved roller skating and bowling with the love of his life Peggy.
Everette will always be known for sharing his 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies; his quirky sayings, “Step into my office” with open arms, giving the sweetest hugs, he would step between two people put his arms around them and say, ‘Something good just came between you”. He was a fun-loving happy person who enjoyed making up silly songs and creating a lasting memory with all who knew him.
Services will be held at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, 5800 W. 12th st. Little Rock, AR. Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. with Service to follow at 11:00 A.M. Burial with full military honors will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, 2801 Asher Ave., Little Rock, AR will be at 12:00 P.M.
