

George Robert “Buzz” Berg was taken away from us too soon due to a car accident on September 18, 2025, near Monnette, AR. Buzz was the son of CDR George Edward Berg, (USNR-Ret) and Cornelia Frances Davis and was born on May 4, 1961, in New York City, New York. Buzz was nicknamed after his father, a U. S. Naval pilot. Buzz was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, George and Pauline Wirges Berg, and Toy Amos and Tommie Herrin Davis, his brother-in-law Ronald Grafe and his son George Alexander Berg. He is survived by his son Nick, (Tacara) his granddaughter Tiana, his sisters, Barbara Grafe, Marty Heiple (Tim), Cindy Phelps (Don), and Patty Enderlin (Charles), nieces Carrie Bennett (Paul), Bonnie Dawson (Ryan), Ava Sorge, Grace Pasquini (Phil), and nephews Bob Bushmiaer, and Charles Enderlin, Jr. (Jenny), and many loved ones.
Buzz graduated from Catholic High school in Little Rock in 1979, and then from Arkansas State University in 1983, where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and was well known for his great sense of humor and life-long friendships. In 1991 Buzz began his 34-year career with Central Distributors. He traveled to Argentina, California, Chili, France and Scotland tasting wines to sell. He was so happy when he was able to move to Jonesboro and be closer to ASU. He was a huge Red Wolves fan and loved to support the football team.
Buzz loved to spend time with his granddaughter, Tiana, go fishing, and just sit in peace by his lakeside home. He was an excellent wood-worker, a talent inherited from his father and grandfather. He always had the best jokes and the best taste in music. Buzz had a huge heart, was kind, loyal and a great friend. He was a great father to Nick, and loving grandfather to Tiana.
Buzz was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church before he moved to Jonesboro. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, September 27, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church located at 801 Sherman Street, little Rock, AR. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wright Avenue and South Woodrow, in the family plot with his son Alex. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Monsignor Allen Trust Fund, the Catholic High School Foundation or St. Edwards Church.
