Glenn Halstead, Jr., of Little Rock, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Born in Washington, DC on December 30, 1958, to Glenn Sr. and Lucy Halstead, Glenn attended Little Rock's Catholic High School where he excelled on the football field. Upon graduating, he attended the University of Missouri where he studied at the School of Journalism. While at Mizzou, he pledged Sigma Nu Fraternity, eventually becoming chapter president. After college, Glenn took a position with Proctor & Gamble in Memphis, eventually relocating back to Little Rock where he started a family. His daughter Hannah was born in 1983 and his son Glenn III (Trey) was born in 1985. Glenn was a devoted father who loved nothing more than taking in Razorback football games and Cardinal baseball games with his children. He instilled in his daughter a love of sports, politics, debating, and an unwavering devotion to all things Mizzou. He instilled in his son a love of sports, history, trivia, and rock and roll. He was also an avid storyteller, often recounting stories about his trips to see his beloved Razorbacks in the Orange and Cotton Bowls in 1970s, the Cardinals teams of the 1980s, and Razorback basketball teams of the 1990s, among countless other memories he cherished. It is his fondness and enthusiasm for storytelling that will be missed the most. Glenn is survived by his daughter Hannah and granddaughters Rory and Margaret, of St. Louis; his son Trey and daughter-in-law Nan, of Washington, DC; and his brother Bill, of Cincinnati. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 8, 2016, from 2pm to 4pm at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home at 5800 W. 12th Street in Little Rock.
