James “Jim” Hall passed away on February 4, 2015 in Little Rock at the age of 99. Jim was born to Harry M. and Myrtle Britt Hall in Texarkana, Arkansas on January 7, 1916. Jim moved to Little Rock in 2009 and has remained a resident there since. He previously lived in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, from 1994-2009. While there he was a member of Village United Methodist Church and also an avid golfer. Jim was proud of the fact that his grandparents were pioneer settlers in Quachita and Columbia Counties of South Arkansas. They lived in those areas before the railroads were constructed and before most of the smaller towns existed in the 1800’s. Jim was a Veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy Seabees from 1943-1945. He also retired from Western Greyhound Lines where he was employed as a bus driver from 1946-1975. Preceding Jim in death were his parents, two brothers, Harold A. Hall and Roy D. Hall, and his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy Sunshine Pritchard Hall. Thanks and love to Mabel Serpa, and her family, Paris, Arkansas, who has been a special loving friend for 18 years. He is also survived by Harold’s daughter, Linda Hall (John) Fordyce of Little Rock; Roy’s children, Gerry Hall of Washington State, Barbara Hall (Roger) Harp and Suzie Hall of Idaho, and numerous loving Pritchard family nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Presbyterian Village, 510 Brookside, Little Rock. Visitation will be Saturday, February 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street. Graveside services will be Monday, February 9, at 10:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Presbyterian Village or the Firehouse Hostel and Museum.
