Born on Oct. 8, 1948 in Monroe, AR, on Feb. 14, 2025, John Sidney Dailey, a follower of Jesus Christ, was called to Paradise. John now rests from chronic pain valiantly endured for 56 years since miraculously surviving mortal wounds in combat on February 15, 1969, while serving in the Army as an E.O.D. specialist (tunnel rat) in The 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam. Upon returning home, John married Nancy (Kuespert) Dailey, who survives him along with their only child, Nathaniel Dailey and John's siblings Wayne Dailey, WH Dailey, AJ Dailey, and Cindy (Dailey) Picado and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was a long-time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed the companionship of pets, adopting homeless dogs and contributing to animal rescue organizations. Through the loving sacrifice and care of Nancy, the prayers of the faithful, and the blessings and Grace of God, John was a living testimony of the Lord's miraculous power to save and sustain.
John worked for The Arkansas State Highway Department in computer operations and was a Systems Analyst until early retirement in 1995.
John is preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Margurett Dailey, and eldest brother, Richard Dailey. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Arkansas Veterans Home that provided such excellent care to John for the past two years.
Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2025, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m., with services to begin immediately after at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (600 S Rodney Parham Rd, Little Rock, AR 72205). John will be laid to rest following the service at Forest Hills Cemetery in Alexander.
