Julia R. “Julie” O’Connor, 79, of Little Rock, passed away April 30, 2016. She was born October 15, 1936, in Gibbon, Minnesota to Roland and Marie Reitter. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard J. O’Connor. Julie was a retired social worker. In retirement she volunteered at UAMS and participated in The Red Hat Society. She was devoted to her grandchildren and attended recitals, school events and countless other activities. She is survived by her four children, Michael (Sherry) O’Connor, Patrick (Kathleen) O’Connor, Mary (Robin) O’Connor and Steve (Kathy) O’Connor; seven grandchildren: Maddie, Caroline, Allie, Sam, Jack, Griffin and Aerin; and one brother, Jerry Reitter. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock. Graveside service will be Wednesday, May 4, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society, 14600 Colonel Glenn Rd, Little Rock, AR 72210.
