Mrs. Kathleen Black Beckworth, 101, of Hernando, Mississippi passed away peacefully on October 14, 2021. She was born on December 16, 1919 in Gallatin, Missouri to the late Robert Norris Black and Ethel Elizabeth Graham Black. Mrs. Kay Beckworth is also preceded in death by her husband John Carroll Beckworth and grandson Robert Whiteaker (Brandi), Sister Christine Minnick and brothers Glenwood and JB Black.
Mrs. Kay Beckworth leaves two cherished sons, Mark (Linda) Beckworth of Hernando, MS, and Dennis (Linda) Beckworth of Anchorage, Alaska. Grandchildren; Kiri (Brandon) Stilwell, Kyle Beckworth, and Brian (Tina) Juaire. Great Grandchildren; Kaden Stilwell, Taylor Stilwell, Payton Stilwell, Jack Whiteaker, Robert Whiteaker JR, Jacob Burton, Jackson Juaire, and Mackenzie Juaire.
Mrs. Kay Beckworth received her Master in Education from the University of Arkansas in 1973. She was a dedicated teacher for 47 years. Kay Beckworth taught school at Cloverdale Elementary, Cloverdale Junior High, Wakefield Elementary, and finished her stellar teaching career at McClellan High School. She ran Scenic Court in Rockaway Beach, Missouri for 15 years after retirement. Mrs. Beckworth was a part of Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Teachers Association, Future Business Leaders of America Award, and Arkansas Business Teacher of the Year (1985). In 1985 Mrs. Kay Beckworth received the Arkansas Vocational Teacher of the year Award.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 23, 2021 beginning at 10am at Griffin Leggett Healey Roth Funeral Home with a visitation starting one hour prior. Following the service will be a graveside service at Pinecrest Memorial Park where Mrs. Beckworth will be laid to rest.
