Kavin Dalton DuBose

March 18, 1973September 28, 2016

On September 28, 2016, Kavin Dalton DuBose left this world to join with his higher power. Kavin was the friend who made us all want to enjoy life as much as he did. He was our hilarious friend. He was our kind friend. Stubbornly humble, he would not want to be bragged upon, but the reality is we are truly blessed to have had Kavin in our world. He led a family-centric life, giving, appreciating, and smiling whenever possible. The last years of his life, especially, were filled with service to others. Kavin’s spirit lives on in those who knew him, reminding us always to realize happiness in the moment, face fear head-on, and always do the next right thing. We move forward with happiness in our hearts in celebration of Kavin’s wonderful life. Those who knew Kavin know there was nothing more important to him than his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife and business partner, Melanie, his son and best friend, Trevor, his stepsons, Zachary and Aaron Arendt (Grace), his mother, Brenda Livingston, his father, Gerald DuBose, brothers Troy (Deborah) and Ray (Liz), his extended family and close friends, whom he also loved dearly, and his pets. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Kavin’s life at the Church at Rock Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6th. There will also be a memorial service for Kavin’s family in Gulfport, MS on Saturday, October 8. In lieu of flowers, Kavin’s family wishes for all acts of kindness be directed toward the Wolfe Street Foundation. “Life is good.” -Kavin DuBose

Condolences to a wonderful family and host of friends and loved ones. Early after meeting him he was an inspiration both personally and professionally. Like so many others that heard the tragic news there was disbelief and shock. I was able to share w him and he with me very personal important parts of our lives. I truly miss him and still look for him in the morning. Godspeed Kavan

Now there's a smile I'm going to miss. What an amazing dude. He will be missed, but he'll never be gone. In the rare moments I get out of my head long enough to appreciate life, Kavin will be there saying, "life is good."

Thank you, Mel and Trevor, for giving Kavin something wonderful to fight for. I believe that you both are what made Kavin so special to all of us.

A gentleman who left us way too early. He will be missed for all the good contributions he has made to us and helping us on our similar journey.
