Lloyd enlisted in the 154th Unit of the Arkansas Air National Guard and deployed during the Korean War. He was extremely proud to have served his country.
He was a 1946 graduate of Little Rock Central High School and attended Little Rock Junior College.
His career began with Spaulding Sporting Goods in Little Rock. His experience there led him to many other central Arkansas businesses. AMF, Artcrest, Wilson Lettering, Rol-Lift and Oxford Screen Printing/Graphics all benefitted from his excellent business sense. He belonged to the Little Rock Executive Association before his retirement.
Lloyd & Hazel were avid square dancers for 50 years and served a term as presidents of the Arkansas State Square Dance Federation.
He coached his sons in baseball and Hazel in softball. He also played senior softball with Old Gold into his 70’s. He faithfully followed his grandsons’ sporting events…Nick’s golf, Andrew’s Taekwondo competitions, and Travis’s baseball gave him much pride and joy.
Lloyd enjoyed collecting the works of Norman Rockwell, traveling with family and friends and watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals; rarely missed a televised game!
Of utmost importance to Lloyd were his faith, family and friends.
