

Mrs. Margaret Oreye, beloved wife of late Mr. Michael Oreye, loving mother, and proud grandmother passed away at UAMS in Little Rock AR on Sunday June 19, 2016. Margaret Oreye was the daughter of late Ehialimwian Ogun and Egbemwenkhaye Ighalo Ogun of Igueben in Igueben Local Government area of Edo state Nigeria. She was born on April 10, 1947 in Igueben. At a young age, she lived with her eldest sister in Sapele where she had her schooling. Margaret married the love of her life, late Mr. Michael Oreye in 1969. The couple settled in Benin City where they raised their children: Rita, Charles, Vivian and Omoruyi. Following the death of her husband in 1987, Margaret Oreye worked tirelessly at her Restaurant business to take care of her children. She was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to be a “loving Granny” to her 15 grand children: Uwaila, Steve jnr, Enore, Favour, Divine, Adesuwa, Ehi, Ebere, Kasarachi, Ikpomwosa, Richie, Rogers, and Mike. In 2013, Mrs. Oreye came to the United States at the invitation of her daughter Rita to help take care of her grandchildren. Any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and caring for her grand children as well as other kids. She was fondly called ‘Mother of All’ Mrs. Margaret Oreye was a devout Christian who demonstrated courage and a resolute trust in God even in the face of very challenging and difficult situations. She was known for her humble and quiet disposition. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. May her gentle Soul Rest in Peace!
