Mary Ellen Kirchner was born in Levy to Gus and Ella (Elliott) Zimmerebner on December 27th, 1938. She went to school in Little Rock where she graduated from Mount St Mary’s and later married James G. Kirchner on August 11, 1956 in Little Rock. Mary worked as a secretary for the Pulaski County Special School District for many years and was involved in her church community at St. Theresa`s. She loved spending time with her family and working in her yard with her beloved dog Paco by her side. Mary loved just sitting on her front porch and enjoying all that nature could give her. Everyone that came in contact with her loved her. She was the neighborhood mother and second Mom to many. This sweet woman had the warmest smile and most caring eyes. Mary was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. I am sure she made the most radiant angel as all the ones she cherished in her collection. Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her parents Gus and Ella Zimmerebner, sister Louise, brother Gus John, her husband James, her son Alan and her granddaughter Monie. Mary Ellen is survived by her sisters, Lana Troxler, Sue (Freddy) Dulany, Lynne (Jim) Phillips, Sandra (Jim) Ragsdale. Beloved children- Jeanie Sharkey, Tim & Wilma Kirchner, Brenda & Tim Russell and Matthew Kirchner. Grandchildren- James Sharkey, Kristin & Brad Moore, Chris Sharkey, Kacey Kirchner, Jessica Sturgeon & Jeremy Price, Allysa Sturgeon, Alex Kirchner, and Zach Kirchner. Great grandchildren-Wyatt, Max & Cannon Moore, Conner & Chance Price, Tyler Crowder, Austin Kirchner, Mckenzie Jimerson and Jose` Abundes Jr.
The family of Mary Ellen wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Arkansas Hospice for all the support and help thru these last few months of moms fight with Alzheimer's. Every person we came in contact with was genuinely kind and helpful. Also to the members of her church who came over and continued to bless her.
