Sister Jolitta was beloved at St. Anne's Academy in Fort Smith. Her interest and care and love for her students went way beyond her teaching responsibilities. During one very memorable assembly one of her graduating seniors "willed Sister Jolitta all the happiness in the world for she truly deserves it". That was a crowning example of how she was adored.

As a student at Mt. St. Mary’s in Little Rock from 1957-1961, I was blessed to be “friends” with Sr. Jolitta some of those years. I was a Basketball “Belle” & she was a big supporter at all our Home games.
After graduation, I joined the Sisters of Mercy convent in St.Louis, and went on to get my Degree in Nursing. I was a nun for 10 years & although our “career” paths never crossed, Sr. Jolitta was always someone I looked up to, could confide in, and who encouraged & inspired me to always keep God first in my life. May she RIP. My sympathy & prayers to all her loved ones.

My sincere sympathy to the Sisters of Mercy and her family members. I was fortunate enough to be a student during Sr. Jolitta’s time at MSM. The smile in this obituary notice was an ever present one in the halls of Mount. May She Rest In Peace.
