Minnie Ola Smith was born to Abraham & Gracie Tims March 12, 1929 in Camden AR. She attended Camden High School and later became a graduate of Arkansas A.M.&.N. College. After finishing college she moved to Hensley AR where she met Guy Smith where she accepted Christ and was a faithful member of Galilean Baptist Church under Rev. W.H. King. Minnie became a seamstress at Ardenheimers Industrial Center on 65thStreet. She then united in Holy Matrimony to Guy Smith and to this union five children were born. She was also preceded in death by her mother and father Abraham & Gracie Tims, her husband Guy Smith, her children Winston &Freda Smith, and grandson Adrian Harris.
Everyone knew her as Momma Minnie. It was this motherly compassion which brought Ashley Dennis-
Value & Xavier Smith into her life and into her home. They were her children. Although they didn’t live with her “Momma Minnie” offered motherly love to many others- spouses of her children, her grandchildren, and friends of her grandchildren.
Minnie Smith memories will be cherished by her three children, Sheryl Anderson, Marva Smith, Ingrid Dennis, Four grandchildren Brian Ward, Xavier Smith, Ashley Dennis-Value, Lauren Smith, Loving sisters and brothers, Brenda Robinson of Bastrop, LA. Linda Tims Ross of Monroe, LA. Larry Tims & Don C. Tims of Bastrop, LA. Michael Tims of Shreveport, LA. Her thirty-three (33) great grandchildren will also cherish her memory &a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and loving friends.
