Patrick K. Carpenter, 70, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully Sunday, June 23, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 26, 1949 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Barbara (McHenry) Carpenter; sisters, Kimberly and Kelly Carpenter; brothers, Mike Duncan, Tim Holiman, and Bill Burrow. He leaves to cherish his memory his adoring wife of 11 years, Joni; loving daughters Mollie Fiegel (Justin), Olivia Carpenter (Allison) both of Little Rock; bonus son Gunther Wilkerson of Little Rock; sister Donna McKinzie of Dumas; grandson Xander Fiegel; granddaughter Charlotte Carpenter; godson Casey Penix; and many nieces, nephews, and friends that he gladly considered family as well.
Patrick proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring after 26 years. He was honored to protect the Arkansas Supreme Court Justices as a police officer for the high court. Patrick loved to stay busy and loved people. His retirement was enjoyed serving the families of the Griffin Leggett family of funeral homes and cemeteries. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion. He was a Mason and a Shriner, including a few years as Shrine clown “Patches”.
He was a devoted father and would tell anyone that would listen about his children and grandchildren. Patrick was a doting husband and best friend to his wife Joni. He was always up for an adventure and loved to travel, especially to Arkansas Razorback sports events. To say he was a diehard Razorback fan would be an understatement. Whether it was football, basketball, baseball, or golf, he loved his Hogs.
Patrick never met a stranger and that is evident by the multitude of friends he leaves behind in all walks of life. If he thought of you as a friend then you were family to him and he greatly loved all of his family.
Patrick loved to cook for his family and was right at home in the kitchen. His famous fried chicken and gravy, along with his best ever potato salad will be sorely missed.
Patrick loved and served his God, his family, and his country.
