Rayburn was raised on a dairy farm, milking 30 cows every morning before school. He graduated Mabelvale High School in 1950 and attended Little Rock University.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thomas L. Burris.
Rayburn worked for 14 years at Colonial Bakery and owned and operated his own body shop, then graduated to real estate investing. He enjoyed classic cars, watching westerns, and sitting on the porch at Lake Hamilton, Hot Springs.
He loved to attend his high school reunions and the Petit Jean Car Show.
Rayburn died peacefully in his sleep at St. Vincent Hospice. He is survived by his patient wife of 66 years, Mary Louise (Osborn) Burris and three children, Carol Beth Williams (Myron), Rayburn Wayne Burris (Diane), and Gary Lee Burris.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm. Until 4:00 pm Saturday, October 27 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock (501) 661-9111. Burial will be private at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
