Raymond Michael Batie

RAYMOND MICHAEL BATIE, 71, of Little Rock passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at Baptist Springhill Medical Center. He was born to the late Raymond and Vada Batie of Little Rock. Mr. Batie was a retired civil engineer, member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and an avid Razorback fan.

After graduating from the University of Arkansas with his master’s degree in civil engineering, he enjoyed a long successful career. He took the most pride in serving Little Rock as the city’s Director of Public Works for many years.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Vada Batie, and one brother-in-law, Marv Thomas.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Nancy Andrews Batie; three daughters, Mary McDonald and her husband, Dax, of Little Rock, Sarah Manning and her husband Matt of Conway, and Carrie Hunt and her husband Andy of Charleston, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Higgins McDonald of Little Rock and Cason Manning of Conway; two sisters, Becky Thomas of Fairfield Bay and Mona Koehler and her husband Ralph of Little Rock, and a host of other family and friends.

A gathering of remembrance will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Chapel, 5800 W 12th Street in Little Rock with Rev. Kathleen McMurray officiating.
