Born on February 12, 1957, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Kendrick Dayne Hearn and Joyce Joan Garrett Hearn, Scott spent most of his childhood in Benton, where he grew up alongside his sister Susan. He graduated from Benton High School in 1975 and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway in 1987.
Scott was a devoted husband of 45 years to his beloved wife, Sherri Goodner Hearn. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the companionship of many cherished pets over the years.
He dedicated over 40 years to the retail industry, with the last two decades of his career spent as the Facility Engineer at Dillard’s McCain, where he retired in 2022. Scott was known not only for his work ethic but for the friendships and respect he built along the way, especially with his Dillard’s “family.”
Outside of work, Scott found joy in nature—fishing, floating, hiking, and sailing throughout Arkansas's scenic rivers, forests, and lakes. He was a skilled woodworker and lovingly restored the couple’s Victorian home in Little Rock’s Central High Historic District, where they formed lifelong bonds with neighbors who became chosen family.
Scott also had a sharp wit, a generous spirit, and a deep passion for cooking delicious meals, often shared with friends and family. His humor, creativity, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kendrick and Joyce Hearn.
Scott is survived by his wife, Sherri Hearn; his sister, Susan Hearn Spivey (Rick); his brother-in-law, Keith Goodner (Deana Tipton); and his mother-in-law, Marlene Plumley Goodner. He is also survived by his niece, Stacey Spivey Brabham (Jake), and great-niece Baylor; his nephew, Cameron Spivey (Erin); his uncles, Jerry Hearn and Tim Garrett; and many dear friends, including Jeff and Jill Corley, Terrell and Arlene Rose, godchildren Connor and Katie Corley, and Nona Rose Joseph (Charles). He leaves behind countless others whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice or to a local animal shelter in Scott’s memory.
