

Dr. Thomas Patrick Caffey Jr, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 13, 2025 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born to Thomas Patrick Caffey Sr. and Lillian Doris Caffey in Duckhill, Mississippi on February 3, 1930.
Patrick led a happy and active life that included retiring and moving to San Diego, California where he enjoyed golfing numerous days a week and watching Ole Miss Rebels football. He lived for his yearly Caffey Men’s Trip when he, his brothers, son and nephews would travel to Oxford, Mississippi to golf and attend an Ole Miss Football game. Patrick was an accomplished Psychologist earning his Bachelor of Arts at Millsap, Masters degree at The University of Mississippi and PhD at Oklahoma State University. Among his many accomplishments, Patrick served as a medic in the Korean War, taught at The University of Arkansas Little Rock. Dr. Caffey, as a clinical psychologist, served in leadership roles in Arkansas Psychological Association, The Arkansas Board of Licensed Psychologist, and the American Psychology Association where he received Diploma Status. Dr. Caffey provided both direct clinical care and case consultation to a number of child care and mental health agencies throughout Arkansas. He also provided consultation and testimony to court and legislative committees. Dr. Caffey received numerous awards throughout his career for his dedication and contribution to Psychology and mental health in the state of Arkansas. Dr. Caffey retired from private practice as a Clinical Psychologist.
Patrick met and married his wife, Paula Cummings in 1959. They raised two sons, Robert Paul “Pete” Caffey and Phillip Edward Caffey. They were married for 27 years before her death.
He was preceded in death by his wife Paula, his son Phillip and his sister Patricia Forbes. He is survived by his son Pete, grandson Robert Clayton Caffey (Ashley), great grandson John Robert Wyatt Caffey, brothers Dr. Fred Barksdale Caffey (Ginger) and Dr. Taylor Dunn Caffey Sr. (Carol Ann).

The family will receive guests for visitation on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 12:00-1:30 at Pinecrest Funeral Home and Memorial Park located at 7401 Hwy 5 N, Alexander, AR 72002 with graveside burial at 2:00 following visitation.
