Verna was born January 12, 1944 in Fordyce, Arkansas to Luther and Mary Jane Jarrett. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tommy Jarrett; and sisters, Carolyn (John) Warren and Helen (Clyde) Williams.
Verna was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. She loved camping with friends and the Arkansas Razorbacks.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Tarnowsky; daughter, Tammy Sledge; son, Mark (Rhonda) Tarnowsky of Mabelvale; Three grandchildren, Tiffany (Cory Ray) of Shannon Hills, Tara (Jordan Delling) of Benton, and Allie Tarnowsky of Mabelvale; three great-grandchildren, Kali and Kyli Ray and Willow Delling; her sisters, Nell (Robert) Williams of Fordyce, Ruby (Roland) Partain of Camden, and Norma (Rodger) Brown of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2021 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6219 Baseline Road, Little Rock, 72209 with Father Mark Wood as celebrant. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Rosary will be 3:30 P.M. Sunday at the church followed by visitation until 5:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Theresa’s Catholic Church building Fund.
