

Vickie Lynette Watkins, 73, was born August 29, 1952 in Little Rock, Arkansas and was the youngest of 8 children of the late Squire and Louise Watkins. On July 6, 2026, Vickie was called home to glory to be with the Lord.
Vickie spent most of her early years of life being raised and attending schools in the Paul Laurence Dunbar Historic Neighborhood of Little Rock. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church where her parents were charter members. She later joined Saint Mark becoming an active member serving faithfully until her health began to decline.
Vickie was a graduate of Horace Mann High School Class of 1970.
After high school, she attended the University Of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) where she became a member of the UALR chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from UALR. Vickie retired after 30 years of service to the US Post Office.
Vickie was a devoted sister, aunt, cousin, friend and neighbor.
She absolutely loved to serve and support her community. Her dedication was unmatched. This is reflected in the many accolades and awards she has received over the years. She spent countless hours volunteering at the Little Rock Veterans Hospital, AR Food Bank, her local churches and also donating financially to charities such as the United Negro College Fund (UNCF).
She also was a faithful member of the Grand Chapter Of Mt. Moriah Order Of Eastern Star.
Now cherishing her memory is her sister, Rose Watkins Reed of Plano, Texas; a brother, Herbert Watkins of Castle Pines North; Colorado; and two special nephews, Mayo Johnson and Lance Watkins of Little Rock, Arkansas. Additionally, she is survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Squire Watkins Jr., James Charles Watkins, and Robert "Bobby" Watkins; as well as two sisters, Siesel Jones and Dorothy Gipson.
She had the most beautiful smile that lit up every room.
Vickie enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Her home was a warm reflection of her vibrant spirit, filled with many memories and beautiful botanical arrangements. From her faux watchful pets to her vibrant carousel of hats in her entry way, each tells a story of her life and travels. Vickie's beautiful legacy will forever live on in every one of our lives.
Visitation will be held at Saint Mark Baptist Church, 5722 W 12th St, Little Rock, AR 72204, on July 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will follow, also at Saint Mark Baptist Church, at 11:00 am.
