He was born on January 28, 1946, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to William James Oury Jr. and Norma Massery Oury.
A graduate of Catholic High School, Jim was a hard worker, who loved being in the outdoors. He loved hiking and skipping rocks. Jim was a big Razorback fan who loved traveling, especially to Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Norma Oury, as well as brothers Danny and Mike Oury; he is survived by his daughter, Tara Oury and son, Jason Oury; grandchildren: Mason Cypress Oury, Tirman Oury, and Ewan Oury; his sisters: Debbie Barron (Ralph) and Jeanne Metzger (John David); sister in-law, Donna Oury as well as his former wife and friend Chris Tirman.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. will funeral service to follow at 2pm in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock, AR 72204. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery 3115 W. Charles Bussey Ave, Little Rock, AR.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Little Rock Catholic High School, 6300 Father Tribou St, Little Rock, AR 72205.
