

Willie Mae Brockman “Queenie” McCollum entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:02 a.m. She being one of seven children was born to Anderson and Princess Austin Brockman on January 2, 1931. She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and united with Gumwood Baptist Church in Keo, Arkansas, where she served on the Usher Board and on the Mother’s Board. Later in life she united with Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas under the leadership of Pastor Landrum Marshall, Jr. where she served faithfully until her health began to fail. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. McCollum Sr., whom she united in holy matrimony in 1951; her father and mother, Anderson and Princess Brockman; two brothers Elzie and Andrew Brockman; four sisters Elvira Mayweather, Cumirie Gilbert, Mary Boone, Almarie McCollum, and her daughter Betty Ann Smith of Kansas City, Missouri. She leaves to cherish her memories four sons: Carl (Winona) of Columbia, Tennessee, Charles Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jerry (Cathlyn) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Nicholas of Conway, Arkansas,; two daughters: Linda (Andrew) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Juanita of the home; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, a special cousin – Ms. Iretha Grey of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and other friends. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home on West 12th Street. Funeral is 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church, NLR, AR with burial at Pine Crest Memorial Park.
