Abbe Esocoff Zimmerman passed peacefully on Friday, June 6th, in Rockville, MD, at the age of 84. She was predeceased by beloved husband Alan, and is survived by brother Philip, son David, daughter Jeri, and grandchildren Renee and Noah.
Abbe was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1940. She attended Drexel University, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (BSMT) and certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Through her career, she served as administrator of various hospital laboratories in the central NJ area. Abbe was a quilter, a disability advocate, and a member of Adas Israel congregation, in addition to being a devoted wife and mother. She lived in Elizabeth, NJ, and later split her time between Hemlock Farms, PA and Washington, DC.
The family will be receiving guests for Abbe on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Rd, Livingston, New Jersey 07039, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Gomel Chesed Cemetery, 245 Mt Olivet Ave, Newark, NJ 07114. A livestream will be available for those who cannot join in person.
