Mr. Silberman worked as a stockbroker for 47 years. He was also a Certified Financial Planner.
He received a bachelor of science in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed ROTC training.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an officer in the Supply Corps.
He was a member of the Rotary Club for many years. He was a longtime member of Temple Emanu-El of West Essex in Livingston, where he served on the Ritual and Education committees and was a Men’s Club officer. He later became a member of Temple Sholom of West Essex in Cedar Grove.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Russell); two daughters, Lori Brauner (Jack) of Teaneck and Carrie Silberman (Omid Zareh) of East Hills, NY; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 10 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Sholom or the University of Pennsylvania’s Abramson Cancer Center.
