Ann was one of two of my Jewish mothers.  So often in San Diego (where I met Ann as my realtor), people often thought we were mother/daughter as the resemblance really was uncanny.  I will share a pic as proof; stay tuned!  I will fondly relish in the warm memory of Shabat services with both Ann & Hilda where I allowed the rich timbre of Hebrew words to envelope my ears like a Beethoven Symphony and move to the melodic lilt of the music and song.  Ann, thank you for your wisdom and inspiration as we sat on your balcony in Iselin when I drove up and took Amtrak up to visit from my parents' home in Maryland.  Thank you for your strength to answer my phonecalls in the past year when I reached out to you from my current home in Portland, Oregon.  You are love, you are mother, you are guardian, and - to edit Mickey's famous Hilda motto - may your family and friends do that which is "Ann approved." 

I never met Ann but I work with Gary regularly. I feel sorry I never met her because it sounds like I would have really liked her. Gary is such an excellent human being- he is smart, hardworking, reliable and always willing to go the extra mile. That doesn't come from nowhere.  I know Ann was very important to Gary and Gary is very important to us. I wish you peace.

My mother, Victoria Barth, and I, Lynda Barth, watched the services with heavy hearts. How the wonderful memories came flooding back from Nancy Drive. Ann was a constant. One that I know my sister, Loren, valued as an older sister, and Robert, Gary, Mickey, and Heather as her pseudo siblings. Luck and privilege are not enough to describe how the Barth Family felt to have the Greenbergs just two houses up. Ann's presence was enough to brighten our days. Her laughter was contagious. She was able to find the humor in anything.

I distinctly remember when Gary (meatball was our nickname for him) was little, I'd stick his toy blocks in his little overalls and watch him schlep around. "Stop messing with my son!" Ann would say playfully. She will be missed. She will never be forgotten. 

Annie and I grew up together as BFs as children.  We shared secrets and she passed down her clothes to me.  We always called each other  on the New Year to catch up and celebrate.  Annie will  be in my heart and will always be part of me.  The family will speak about you and your strength forever! 


Ann was such a special woman and friend. She always was upbeat no matter what was going on in her life. She taught me so much over the years. Ann was a creative teacher always loved children and was a wonderful daughter to her parents especially Hilda. She will be sorely missed —shlomit 

My sincere condolences for the loss of my dear cousin Annie. I am truly sad yet I always remember her with a big smile and laughter. Her siblings and her children  and of course her grand children were so special for her. I remember when Annie was the pioneer of our family who decided  to go to Israel. I followed her to Israel soon after she did and Annie will be in my heart forever.

May Ann’s memory be a comfort to all who mourn her.

I was blessed to meet Ann in 1983.  Ann taught my daughter, Jacqueline, in Hebrew Nursery and Tot Shabbat. Ann was loving, kind, warm and sensitive to all children.

When we no longer had extended family, Ann included us in High Holy and other holiday meals and festivities. There was always room for more at Ann’s table!

Ann and I lead Girl Scouts together for many years! The girls were blessed to have such a fine educator leading them—I was equally blessed for Ann’s leadership. In spite of her suffering with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ann was always at the top of her proverbial game.

Ann and I lost touch when the family moved to California. On a return visit, we enjoyed lunch together; and we did not miss a beat—old friends sharing another lunch.  Ann was my dearest friend for many years. She will always hold a very special place in my heart. 

Fly high dear friend! Your spirit shines bright on all of us whose lives you have touched!
