Millburn and Springfield communities lost a beloved neighbor and friend with the passing of Anne Druck at her home on Sunday, November 9, 2025. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and deep love for family, friends, and community, qualities that defined her throughout her 79 years.
Born in Newark, New Jersey to Sam and Muriel Schwartzstein, Anne grew up as the oldest of five children in Millburn, where she spent more than 60 years building her life with family, neighbors, and community.
After earning her teaching degree from University of Tampa, Anne began her career as an educator in Rahway Township. Later, Anne transitioned into a career in human resources, bringing her compassion and care to her work with United Health and other companies. In her final professional chapter, Anne joined Gotham Sales Company, where she worked for 10 years and was admired for her empathy and dedication.
Anne found joy in life’s simple pleasures, reading a good book, spending time with her beloved cat Sarah, and caring for those around her. Her compassion extended deeply into her family where she lovingly cared for her parents during their final years, and her disabled granddaughter who lived with her.
She enjoyed spending time with loved ones, chatting with neighbors, and always went out of her way to make people feel welcome. Nieces and nephews recall how Anne always made her house feel warm and comfortable, and how they never left her house empty-handed. She loved to send guests home with generous care packages after family meals and often made sure they left looking “kissed by the sun” after her signature makeovers.
Anne is survived by her two daughters, Laura Schnatz and Emily Morette (Joe), and six grandchildren, Calvin Schnatz, Amanda Schnatz, Stephanie Schnatz, Lucas Schnatz, Peter Morette and Samantha Morette. She is also survived by her brothers Henry Schwartzstein, Richard Schwartzstein and Danny Schwartzstein, sister Natalie Fleischman, numerous nieces and nephews, and dear friends who cherished her companionship.
A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman in Livingston, New Jersey at 11:00am, followed by burial at B’nai Abraham Memorial Park in Union. Shiva to follow at the home of Danny Schwartzstein and Jen Miller (77 Stanie Glen Road, Watchung, NJ).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Anne’s memory to the Millburn Library or ARC of Union.
