Anthony L. Catullo, 63, of Millburn, New Jersey passed away surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, December 9, 2012 in New York City after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. At the time of his death, Anthony was a purchasing manager at Gateway Security, Inc. in Newark, New Jersey.
Anthony grew up in the North Ward section of Newark, New Jersey in a large, close-knit family. He attended Essex Catholic High School. He and his identical twin brother, Jim, went on to play football at Colorado State University.
After college, Anthony pursued his dream of living in New York City. He lived in the West Village from 1972 to 1983. He embraced life in the Big Apple and experienced all that the City had to offer. Anthony’s stories of New York moments never ceased to entertain his many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. It was Anthony’s passion for NYC that led so many family members to follow in his footsteps and make the City a core part of their lives. Anthony was a true Broadway historian, a jazz and movie aficionado, and an avid reader.
During Anthony’s life, he touched many lives and was a loyal friend, son, brother and uncle. He cared deeply for his family, especially his father, Anthony V. Catullo. His legacy will live on through all who were honored to know him.
Anthony was predeceased by his beloved mother, Josephine (nee Dell’Ermo). He is survived by his father, Anthony; his siblings, James and his spouse, Terry; Debra Wisinger and her spouse, John; Robert and his spouse, Diane; Kim and her spouse, Christine C. Quinn; and his beloved nieces and nephews and other family members.
Visitation will be held at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ on Thursday, December 13 from 1 to 4PM and 7 to 9PM. The Funeral Service will be at 10:30AM on Friday, December 14 at the Funeral Home.
