Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and
Disciple of St. Theresa the Little Flower
Toni left this Earth for an immediate place in Heaven. She will be missed by her family and friends very much as her presence in all the lives of those she touched was loving and meaningful.
She was a person of extreme faith, an avid parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, and deeply beholden to St. Theresa. Toni was able to channel her faith and prayers to all who needed help and comfort. Her belief was overwhelming and most times proven to be rewarding for those in need.
Besides her deep love for her husband, son and daughter in law, daughter and son in law, and sisters, her six grandchildren were the main focus of her life. She was a loving and caring grandmother to them all.
Toni (nee Spano) is survived by her husband Paul of 57 years, son Paul A. and Kim, daughter Gina and Tom Ring, sisters Frances S. Schiafone and Lynda Cook,
sister in laws Julie Palma and Marianne Alongi, brother in laws Anthony Alongi, Sebby Alongi, and Bob Surdi, her beloved grandchildren, Kara, Michael, and Matthew Alongi, and Ryan, Jack, and Eric Ring, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rose and Joseph Spano, sisters Jo Surdi, Angela Spano, and Ginny Surdi, and brother in laws Bruno Schiafone, Vincent Surdi, Bill Cook, and Frank Palma.
Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave. Livingston on Thursday, December 5, 2012 at 8:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield at 10 am. The entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bloomfield Unico for the “Toni Alongi Scholarship”, PO Box 1007, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
