I cannot express my enormous personal regret and sorrow that my dear friend and  colleague - a giant in planning in Long Hill Township and throughout New Jersey has passed away.

I am sure that we all share a deep sense of loss at the departure of a man who epitomized service to community coupled with his deep insight in land use and his ability to steer his Boards through many treacherous shoals.  He will be missed by all of us in planning.

This world is a lesser place without Barry Hoffman.

My deepest condolences to Elaine and the family.  These last few months Barry had expressed his great joy in spending time with his family, enjoying the grandchildren and travelling to see them regularly.  I am glad that the grandchildren have had this time with Barry but am sorry that they will not grow to know him for the caring, kind and decent man that was Barry.

May he rest in peace.  My deepest condolences to the entire family.

We are sorry that we can't be with you at this difficult time. Elaine, Jessica and Gabrielle...we wish you the strength of being surrounded by people who love you. Barry was like my older brother growing up and  we will all dearly miss him.
