

Visiting hours will be held at the La Monica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave. Livingston on Thursday, August 22nd, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. A funeral mass will be held at the Church of St. Philomena, 386 S. Livingston Ave. Livingston on Friday, August 23rd with interment immediately following at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair.
Mrs. McCann joins her beloved “Hon” (Basil McCann) who predeceased her in 2010. Daughter to the late Carlo and Louise Cavallaro, Betty was born in Montclair, NJ, grew up in Verona and worked for Westinghouse and other small businesses. She was active in the Essex County bowling community for 21 years serving as past President and Treasurer of the Tuesday Classic Bowling League and the Swinging Senior Bowling League of West Orange and she was also a member of the WIBC, attending annual bowling conventions throughout the United States. Betty also served for 20 years as Treasurer for the Italian American Women’s Social Club of Newark where she spent most of her married life.
She is survived by her five children, Carol McCann Lamberti and husband Patrick, Joan McCann Symmons and husband Michael, John McCann and wife Tracy, Brian McCann and wife Laura and Kevin McCann and wife Susan, and nine grandchildren, Michael and Merrisa Lamberti; Daria, Janelle, and Matthew McCann, and Gabrielle and Michael Zicaro; and Kevin and Cecelia McCann. She is predeceased by 2 of her 5 siblings, Gertrude Gardner, and Margaret Pasqua and is survived by her 3 siblings, Lillian (Jean) Molinaro, Dr. Carl Cavallaro and Kathleen Sacardi and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Her family and friends will miss her dearly and the unconditional love and compassion she had for all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
