

On July 20, 2022, after a beautiful and full life of 80 years, Bettyann DeFusco passed suddenly but peacefully. Her legacy will be carried on by her husband Kenneth of 56 years and their five children Kenneth, Lori (Andres), David (Sharon), Lisa (Renee) and Danielle (Brent). Bettyann loved her 11 grandchildren, Amanda, Jake, Andrew, Isabelle, Olivia, Jack, Ella, Sam, Riley, Harrison and Reagan.
Bettyann was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, daughter of the late Adele and Anthony Calandra. She was loved by her siblings Michael Calandra (deceased), Thomas Calandra (deceased), Pete Calandra (deceased), and Rosemarie Hughes.
Bettyann and Ken grew up on the same street in Jersey City, became high school sweethearts and eventually married. They married in Jersey City, NJ and moved to Italy for the next several years while Ken finished medical school. They started their family in Italy and when Ken finished medical school they moved to Livingston, NJ where they raised their family.
Bettyann loved spending time with her family. Every Sunday they would get together, and she would cook them a big meal. Everyone loved her famous homemade pizza, which will never be duplicated. She loved playing card games and board games and always had the best snacks. She went to countless sporting events, recitals, graduations and religious ceremonies for her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to Atlantic City and playing the slots. She was also an active member of her parish and attended mass daily.
Bettyann was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was funny and caring and always put everyone’s needs before her own. She instilled good values in her children and grandchildren that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A funeral mass for Bettyann will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 12:00 PM in St. Philomena Church, 386 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039.
A private family service and disposition are being held under the direction of the LaMonica Memorial Home, Livingston.
