

Charlotte Gross, of South Orange, NJ passed away on July 22, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was 80 years old. She is survived by her husband, Sheldon Gross, to whom she was married for 55 years.
She was born in White Plains, N.Y. on January 21, 1935. Her parents, John and Gertrude (Nurick) Edelstein, predeceased her. She is survived by her brother, Mike Edelstein (of Ohio) and his wife, Evie. She also is survived by her children Jon Gross, Marcy Gross Glick, and her stepdaughters, Barbara Gross (Michael) Franklin and Jackie Gross (Stuart) Siris and five grandchildren: Adam, Lorah, Travis, Alex and Jennifer.
Charlotte graduated from Cornell University with a BA in English. She was a salesperson with Sheldon Gross Realty of West Orange, N.J. and the Berkshires, Massachusetts. Charlotte volunteered with the NJ Philharmonic Orchestra, the Special Olympics, The Bach Society of the Berkshires, as well as with Temple Israel’s Women’s Group (now Sharey Tefilo Israel) of South Orange, N.J. Charlotte loved spending time with her many friends and large family at her weekend home in the Berkshires for more than 40 years. She and Sheldon rarely missed a performance in the music shed at Tanglewood.
Services will be held at Bernheim Apter, Livingston NJ on Friday, July 24 at 11am. Shiva will be at the family residence on Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 pm. They will accept visitors from 2pm-5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
