Corrine Forster Schwartz, 82, of Verona, died on June 9, 2018 in Los Gatos, California. Born in Newark, she lived in Livingston where she raised her family before moving to Roseland and then to Verona.
Predeceased by her husband Leonard and sister Sondra Friedner, she is survived by her son Andrew (Elisa Canova) of Denver, CO, her daughters Marci (Gary Richman) of Los Gatos, CA, and Jodi of Surf City, NJ and four grandchildren, Jacob Richman, Alexa Richman, Quinn Canova Schwartz and Kieran Canova Schwartz. She is survived by her brother Joe Forster of Verona.
Mrs. Schwartz taught elementary school in East Orange and West Orange for a total of 31 years. After retiring from public education she worked part-time at the Barry Greene Early Childhood Center of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, where she developed an Early Literacy Program.
Services are to be held at Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, 1055 South Orange Ave., Short Hills on Tuesday, June 12, at 11:00 a.m. with arrangements by Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Mrs. Schwartz was a member of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun for over 45 years. Burial will be held at Beth David Cemetery, Kenilworth, NJ following the services, followed by a luncheon at B’nai Jeshurun.
Shiva services will be held at The Claridge, 1 Claridge Drive, Verona, during the following days and times:
Tuesday 6/12 - 6:00 to 9:00 pm
Wednesday 6/13 - 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 6:00 to 9:00 pm
Thursday 6/14 - 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 6:00 to 9:00 pm
